Progress
Salford is currently home to a huge regeneration project – New Broughton. Anticipated to cost just over £500 million, the redevelopment of Lower Broughton is one of the largest and most challenging major regeneration projects in the UK.
Transforming an area of 74 hectares over the next six to eight years, a sustainable new community of over 3,500 mixed-tenure homes and a full range of community facilities and services including shops, leisure, employment, education and training will be created.
Countryside Properties, a company with unrivalled experience and expertise in the development of sustainable communities, urban renewal and estate regeneration, is responsible for the changing face of an area that has suffered from serious crime, health and unemployment problems. Renowned locally for its work at South at Didsbury Point, Manchester, and NV Buildings, Salford Quays, the company has long been at the forefront of developing sustainable communities, large-scale mixed-use schemes and urban renewal. It is working with Government agencies and local communities to deliver developments including Greenwich Millennium Village in London.
