Residents in a part of Salford undergoing massive transformation now have a dedicated officer to help them set up community groups.
Countryside Properties has appointed Karina Schwarzer as community liaison officer for its Lower Broughton redevelopment scheme.
She will work closely with existing residents and newcomers to the area to establish groups and promote the facilities that will be available as part of the regeneration.
Karina, who has worked in similar roles in Manchester and Merseyside and as a community officer for Greater Manchester Police will be based on site at Lower Broughton.
Part of her job will be to ensure effective liaision between Countryside Properties, the local community, Salford City Council, Contour Housing , and the construction management team regarding all matters relationg to the area’s regeneration.
Karina said: “Having worked in the construction industry for the last two years, I have seen groundbreaking regeneration work that Countryside Properties has carried out.
“The work being carried out in Lower Broughton involves several different partners and hundreds of resisents so effective communication is vital.
“I will play an important role working with all the partners and the community to ensure that the scheme’s progression is communicated clearly and concisely to the residents involved and to answer any queries they may have.”
Les Brown, regional project director for Lower Broughton at Countryside Properties , added: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Katrina to the team.
“Her experience will prove hugely beneficial and play a key role in the success of the scheme, working with the local community to ensure they are fully up to date with development and build work.”
