Rugby: game to be re-established in Lower Broughton, Salford.

The New Broughton Rangers ground was launched last week, 75 years after the original Broughton Rangers folded. Professional rugby league club Salford City Reds won National Sports Foundation funding to help re-establish the game in Lower Broughton area, which was matched by funding from developer Countryside Properties and landlord Contour Homes . Some 75ha of Lower Broughton are to be re-developed with 3,500 homes, a primary school, and leisure facilities over the next seven years.
