The Housing Market Renewal team at Salford City has been very busy during the past couple of months carrying out home visits to talk to Lower Broughton residents on an individual basis about the changes to their houses and, indeed their lives, when the new housing scheme is completed.  The home visits have been particularly important for people who are housebound or who have been unable to attend the monthly community meetings and everyone's views have been taken on board.

The one to ones have been useful to enable the Council team to listen to everyone's points of view regarding their individual housing needs, in terms of where they want to live and type of house.  The Council has strived to answer as many questions as possible and ensure that all the residents affected by phase one of the regeneration project clearly understand each stage of the progress.

Jean Steel, Principal Officer Market Renewal at Salford City Council said: "The work the team has carried out has been very successful and we have visited almost every house in the area to explain the details of the regeneration project.  We have also started running information drop in sessions  at the Humphrey Booth Day Centre on Heath Avenue  every Wednesday which have proved to be very popular.  The one to ones have given the local community the opportunity to communicate their needs and we have taken on board their points of view."

The drop in sessions take place at the Humphrey Booth centre every Wednesday between 2.00pm-4.00pm.  The sessions will be on going for the foreseeable future and are a good opportunity for local residents to have a chat and ask any questions relating to the proposed   regeneration of Lower Broughton.
