Salford City Council has worked with the police, local residents and businesses to identify the areas that would most benefit from the installation of CCTV cameras and is pleased to announce that the following sites will now benefit from state-of-the-art CCTV systems:
- The junction of Lower Broughton Road and Frederick Road
- Benjamin Wilson court to cover Great Clowes Street, Sussex Street and the rear of Mocha Parade
- The front of Mocha parade
Damian Dallimore, Salford City Council Community Safety Project Officer, comments: "The CCTV cameras are now functioning at these three sites and will help to apprehend offenders and deter would-be criminals from operating in the area of Lower Broughton. This is a very positive move for the area and further demonstrates the commitment of Salford's Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in Lower Broughton."
